I can only speak for my experiences, and I only know his are similar to what I am familiar in a way.

He is my Shishu, and though I never met him before, there is still that connection. His plight is related to me as well, though, not directly. While solving a mystery we ran into the end of the story involving him. There was a ghost, she was desperate for help, through empathy I learned what had happened. Xiao Xingchen was a good man, but he was from the mountain and knew little of this wicket world.

I couldn't do anything.... At that time, I was already dead. And when I wasn't, it was already too late.


I met him, both of them, when I arrived here. They didn't know of their cruel fate, I promised myself I would not let them suffer again.

The one who wronged him got what he deserved in the end. But, it wasn't enough.

Oh come now, empathy isn't that dangerous, and it's a perfectly legit skill to use! There are practical applications to it, it's not like I invented it or anything.

And, what else can you do when you want to communicate with a spirit who can't talk? Inquiry is all nice when it's simple questions, but empathy works better for complex ones.
